The Winchelsea Common was home to the Winchelsea Gun Club and Go-Kart Club before it was closed to the public in 2014. The closure was due to a cleanup notice from EPA Victoria, which was concerned by the risks posed by leadshot strewn across the site as a result of the gun club activities.

In 2016 Jen and Martin Butcher facilitated a community open day and reverse guided tour. The purpose of the day was to gather community feedback about their aspirations for future use of the site (post cleanup). As with most consultation projects that Jen undertakes, a comprehensive report of the feedback followed. (Andrea Mason provided report writing support in this instance).

Jen also developed an Evaluation Plan and a plan to ‘close the loop’ with people who had contributed to the project.
This project was undertaken for the Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning in partnership with Surf Coast Shire.
